AMC leaves final season out of its San Diego Comic-Con plans
Summary
– The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will not have a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026
– Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride are not expected to attend unless AMC has a surprise planned
– Dead City Season 3 will represent The Walking Dead universe in Hall H on July 24
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is officially sitting out San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
AMC’s announced plans do not include the series, meaning Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, and the rest of the Daryl Dixon team are not expected to attend unless the network has a surprise waiting.
The absence is disappointing for fans hoping to see the cast promote the fourth and final season before it arrives later this year.
Daryl Dixon has maintained a major presence at San Diego Comic-Con throughout most of its run. With Season 4 bringing the series to an end, many expected one final Hall H appearance from Reedus, McBride, and the creative team.
The decision also makes it unlikely that AMC will announce the Season 4 premiere date or release its first major preview during the convention.
AMC has not confirmed a release date for the final season. The earliest realistic window appears to be after The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 ends on September 13.
That could position Daryl Dixon Season 4 for a late September or October premiere, although AMC has not officially announced its scheduling plans.
An October release could open the door for the series to appear at New York Comic Con, which is scheduled for October 8 through October 11. That remains speculation for now, but it could give AMC another major event to promote the final season.
The Walking Dead universe will still have a presence at SDCC through Dead City Season 3.
Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Raúl Castillo, Aimee Garcia, Scott Gimple, and Seth Hoffman are scheduled to appear in Hall H at 11:45 a.m. PT on July 24.
That panel will take place two days before Dead City Season 3 premieres on AMC on July 26, making the series the main Walking Dead attraction at this year’s convention.
For Daryl Dixon fans, the wait for a release date and first look will continue beyond San Diego Comic-Con unless AMC changes course with a surprise announcement.
