AMC+ has released the first teaser and images from the fourth season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon ahead of its arrival in 2027.
The new footage brings Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride back as Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier. Their journey continues through the devastated landscapes of Spain as questions about their future become harder to ignore.
The official synopsis says Daryl and Carol will hold onto hope and each other while crossing the country’s ravaged badlands. Their latest journey will once again test the bond that has kept them connected throughout the apocalypse.
Jimmy Smits joins the final season as Captain Alejandro Perkins. The character is described as a former United States Navy officer and medical doctor who discovered an unusual way to survive and thrive after the world collapsed.
Smits is known for his award-winning television career, including major roles in NYPD Blue and The West Wing. His arrival adds another established name to the show’s growing international cast.
The returning cast also includes Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Candela Saitta, and Hugo Arbués.
David Zabel continues as showrunner and executive producer. Scott M. Gimple, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival, and Steve Squillante are also executive producers.
AMC previously confirmed that Season 4 will conclude the series. AMC executive Dan McDermott praised Reedus and McBride for creating two of television’s most recognizable characters and carrying their friendship across nearly two decades of storytelling.
