Cody Rhodes is mourning the death of his beloved husky Pharaoh, a longtime member of the Rhodes family who became a celebrity among wrestling fans.

Rhodes announced the news through an emotional Instagram tribute. He remembered Pharaoh’s unique personality, including howling at the moon, patrolling the family pool, and warning strangers who entered the backyard.

Pharaoh also provided Cody with comfort during some of the most difficult moments of his life. Rhodes described him as a crisis dog who always seemed to recognize when someone needed him nearby.

That bond extended far beyond the family home. Pharaoh became part of Cody’s wrestling journey and received a memorable welcome from fans during the first All In weekend in 2018.

Rhodes recalled people taking photographs and chanting Pharaoh’s name as he walked through the Hyatt during Starrcast. A special order of Pharaoh’s fries even appeared on the hotel bar menu.

Pharaoh later participated in charity meet-and-greets benefiting animal shelters. He also became a Chewy champion, received his own Mattel figure, and appeared during Cody’s WrestleMania 40 rivalry with The Rock.

Cody affectionately referred to Pharaoh as The Siberian Nightmare and considered him part of the Rhodes wrestling family. However, he believed the dog’s most meaningful responsibility came after the birth of his daughter, Liberty.

While looking through old family photographs, Rhodes noticed Pharaoh was present in nearly every early picture of Liberty. He was often standing beside her, watching over her, or quietly appearing in the background.

That realization convinced Cody that Pharaoh’s job had been to remain beside Liberty and protect her. Before saying goodbye, Rhodes told his longtime companion that he had completed that job.

Pharaoh may have become famous through wrestling, but his greatest impact was felt inside the Rhodes home. Cody ended his tribute with a simple message of love for the dog he called his best man.
