Summary

– Norman Reedus shared the trailer for his upcoming horror film Pendulum

– The movie is set to open in theaters on January 1, 2027

– Reedus posted the trailer ahead of The Walking Dead’s 16th anniversary

Norman Reedus marked the eve of The Walking Dead’s 16th anniversary by sharing the trailer for his upcoming horror film, Pendulum. The actor posted the preview on October 30, one day before the series premiered on Halloween in 2010.

Pendulum is scheduled to arrive in theaters on January 1, 2027. The story follows a couple who visit a new-age retreat in the New Mexico wilderness while seeking help after a traumatic event. The retreat’s unusual practices soon leave them questioning what is really happening there.

Reedus stars alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Phoebe Dynevor and Jacki Weaver. Mark Heyman directed the film and previously co-wrote Black Swan, which Darren Aronofsky directed. Aronofsky is a producer on Pendulum.

Heyman has said the movie draws from his upbringing around spiritual groups and gurus, including an unusual encounter involving his parents. He wanted to explore how people can be drawn into insular spiritual communities and the risks of surrendering themselves to the unknown.

Reedus has spent years playing Daryl Dixon, but Pendulum gives him a prominent role in a different horror story. He was not in The Walking Dead’s premiere episode; he joined the series in its third episode, “Tell It to the Frogs.” The show’s anniversary gives his trailer reveal a fitting connection to the franchise that made him a familiar face to horror audiences.
