GTA 6 Takes Over PS5 UI

Sony expands PlayStation marketing push for Rockstar’s blockbuster

Summary

– PlayStation 5 now features a custom GTA 6 user interface tied to Sony’s Rockstar partnership

– The PS5 Welcome section includes animated GTA 6 branding and a store page button

– Sony also updated PlayStation app branding as GTA 6 pre-orders went live

Sony is putting Grand Theft Auto VI front and center for PlayStation 5 users.

The PS5 Welcome section now includes a custom GTA 6 display with animated branding. The screen shows the game’s logo, splash art, and a direct button that sends players to the store page for pre-orders.

The update arrived as GTA 6 pre-orders officially opened. Sony has also started its larger marketing campaign for the game, using the message that Grand Theft Auto VI plays best on PS5.

Sony recently published a PlayStation Blog post highlighting console features tied to GTA 6. The post mentioned DualSense support, including controller speaker features and haptic feedback.

There was also a small marketing adjustment after Sony shared social posts using an image of the disc-based PS5. Those posts were later replaced with versions featuring the digital-only console, which better aligns with the news that GTA 6 physical boxes will not include a disc.

The PlayStation app also received a GTA 6-themed update. Its mobile logo now uses colors and palm-inspired visuals connected to Rockstar’s upcoming release.

Sony has made it clear that GTA 6 is a major reason for PS4 players to move to PS5. The game is set for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with no PS4 or Xbox One version announced.

Rockstar has also revealed more details about the launch, including the game’s price, a $100 Ultimate Edition, new screenshots, and confirmation that boxed copies will include download codes instead of discs.
