Former WWE Champion says his health comes first
Summary
– Big E says an in-ring return is not worth the risk even if a doctor clears him
– His C1 neck injury remains the biggest concern after multiple doctors warned him about returning
– Big E said his future, engagement, and long-term health matter more than one more comeback moment
Big E understands why fans still hope to see him wrestle again, but he is not willing to risk his future for another WWE return.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Big E addressed comparisons to Edge, Paige, and Bryan Danielson. All three returned to the ring after major neck issues, but Big E said every injury is different.
His main concern remains the C1 injury high in his neck. Big E said that part of the injury makes his situation especially serious, even though his C6 was also broken.
Big E admitted there may be a doctor somewhere who would clear him. Still, he said he has not searched for a doctor to get the answer he wants.
Tyson Kidd and Natalya helped Big E after the injury and connected him with people who understood the danger. That led him to spine expert Dr. Juan Uribe, who reviewed his scans and urged him to consider ending his wrestling career seriously.
Other doctors gave Big E similar warnings. He said hearing how close he came to a stroke, paralysis, atrophy, or constant headaches changed how he viewed the risk.
Big E said the advice from top spine specialists is enough for him. He is now 40, engaged, and preparing to marry Kristen, which makes the idea of taking another major health gamble even harder to accept.
He did not completely shut the door on ever being cleared. Still, Big E made it clear that the possible cost is too high right now.
For Big E, wrestling gave him a career, a platform, and unforgettable moments. His next chapter is about protecting his health and building a life beyond the ring.
