Lyra Valkyria’s frustration boiled over on the June 22 episode of WWE RAW in London, and Bayley became the target.
Bayley and Lyra challenged Paige and Brie Bella for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. The match gave the London crowd a competitive title fight, but the night ended with a major betrayal instead of a new champion.
Bayley started strong by going after Paige early, but the champions quickly answered. Brie entered the match and helped shift momentum with fast offense and teamwork.
Bayley later fought back with a back suplex, a knee strike, a neckbreaker, and the Bayley-to-Belly. Paige saved the match by pulling Brie out of the ring before the challengers could take full control.
Lyra and Bayley then worked together to keep Brie trapped, including a double suplex. Brie eventually created space and tagged Paige, who came in with German suplexes and fisherman suplexes to both challengers.
Lyra nearly stole the match after countering the Paige Turner into the Nightwing. The near fall was not enough, and the champions stayed alive.
The closing stretch saw Brie take out Bayley while Lyra and Paige traded counters. Lyra tried to finish Paige with a fisherman buster, but Paige reversed it into the RamPaige to retain the titles.
After the bell, Bayley tried to calm Lyra down. She told her they would get another chance and reminded her that she was one of the best.
Lyra rejected the support and attacked Bayley. She shoved her into the ropes, then unloaded with kicks, punches, and slaps as officials tried to stop the assault.
Lyra kept going and eventually planted Bayley with the Nightwing. Bayley was left lying out while Lyra walked away from one of the ugliest moments of her WWE run.
Paige and Brie Bella left RAW with the championships, but Lyra’s heel turn became the bigger story. Bayley now has a new problem, and it came from someone she thought was standing beside her.
