Blake Monroe’s rescheduled debut and major appearances headline Friday’s show
Summary
– Blake Monroe will finally face Giulia in her rescheduled SmackDown debut match
– Sami Zayn will address his interference in last week’s number one contenders match
– Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes will appear ahead of Sunday Night’s Main Event
WWE has announced the lineup for the September 4 episode of SmackDown, with several major matches and appearances scheduled for Friday night.
Blake Monroe will finally have her rescheduled SmackDown debut match against Giulia.
The match was originally set to take place two weeks ago, but the bout never officially got underway after Monroe attacked Giulia before the bell.
WWE will now run the match again, giving Monroe another opportunity to make her first official SmackDown in-ring appearance.
Sami Zayn is also scheduled to speak after getting involved in last Friday’s number one contenders’ triple threat involving Finn Balor, Gunther, and Kevin Owens.
Zayn’s interference affected the match, and WWE is now giving him time to explain his actions.
Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes will both be in the building as they prepare for their upcoming clash at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Their appearance gives WWE another chance to build tension between the two before they meet in the ring.
The card also includes a tag team match featuring Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki against The Miz and Kit Wilson.
That gives SmackDown a mix of storyline developments, a rescheduled debut, and a major tag team match heading into the weekend.
Friday’s announced lineup currently features Giulia against Blake Monroe; Nakamura and Kyoki against The Miz and Kit Wilson; appearances by Orton and Rhodes; and a segment with Zayn.
