Summary
– WWE NXT will begin streaming live through the ESPN App on August 4
– The show will continue airing on The CW while becoming available to ESPN Unlimited subscribers
– NXT Heatwave will also stream through the service on August 30
WWE NXT is expanding its streaming reach through a new agreement involving ESPN and The CW Network.
CW Sports programming will begin streaming live through the ESPN App on Tuesday, August 4. The launch will give ESPN Unlimited subscribers access to more than 800 hours of live sports programming each year.
NXT will be one of the first programs included in the rollout. The August 4 episode will stream live at 8 p.m. ET and continue airing over the air on The CW Network.
The arrangement gives viewers another way to watch the weekly wrestling show without changing its regular Tuesday night television home. ESPN Unlimited subscribers will be able to stream NXT on mobile devices, connected televisions, and other platforms supporting the ESPN App.
NXT Premium Live Events are also included in the agreement. Heatwave will be one of the first major events available through the new partnership, streaming live from Texas on Sunday, August 30 at 3 p.m. ET.
NXT will join NASCAR, college football, basketball, bull riding, volleyball, bowling, and other CW Sports programming available through the ESPN App. All of that programming will continue airing live on The CW and will also stream for ESPN Unlimited subscribers.
Customers can subscribe to ESPN Unlimited directly or activate access through participating television and mobile providers. Viewers subscribed to a Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle will also be able to access CW Sports programming through Disney+.
The partnership increases NXT’s streaming availability while preserving its presence on free broadcast television. Weekly episodes and Premium Live Events will now be available through another major platform beginning August 4.
