Kyle Gallner is stepping into another horror project with a role in Skeletons, the upcoming creature horror film produced by J.J. Abrams.

Walking Dead fans remember Gallner for his brief role as Zach during the Season 4 premiere. Zach was part of the prison group and had a connection with Beth before he was killed during a supply run with Daryl and Michonne.

The Walking Dead was only one stop in Gallner’s horror career. He has also appeared in Scream, Smile, and Smile 2, building a strong reputation with genre fans.

Skeletons will be directed by JT Mollner from a screenplay by Brian Duffield. The story is based on a short story by Philip Fracassi, with Mollner also involved in script revisions.

Plot details remain limited, but the film reportedly centers on a young boy who discovers that his parents are hiding something dangerous about his mother’s identity.

Gallner will star alongside Brie Larson, who is widely known for playing Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel and The Marvels. Her role in Skeletons has not been revealed.

Sony Pictures has picked up worldwide rights to the film, giving the project major studio backing as it continues moving forward.

Gallner also has more projects on the way, including Cotton Fever and the horror film Inground.
