The champion reflects on retaining against LA Knight
Summary
– Roman Reigns defeated LA Knight at Money in the Bank
– He claimed his presence made the World Heavyweight Championship WWE’s most coveted title
– Reigns praised Knight’s effort while making recovery his immediate priority
Roman Reigns believes he has elevated the World Heavyweight Championship to WWE’s most important prize after retaining against LA Knight at Money in the Bank on October 10.
Speaking with Cathy Kelley following the match in New Orleans, Reigns said his priority was recovering from the physical contest. With more challengers pursuing his championship, he wants to return to a condition where he feels ready for the next defense.
“At this point in time, the main thing is just recover, try to get back to a place of health where I feel good,” Reigns said.
The Tribal Chief welcomed the attention that comes with holding the title. He described the pressure as part of the position and said being at the center of WWE’s spotlight is where he wants to be.
Reigns then argued that the championship’s standing had changed because he was carrying it.
“Before not too long ago, this was second prize. This was second fiddle. Now it’s the number one most coveted prize in the game because the Tribal Chief made it that way.”
Despite his confidence, Reigns acknowledged the challenge Knight presented. He credited his opponent for delivering on his words, while maintaining that he had proved himself the better competitor that night.
“He runs his mouth, but he came in there and he backed it up, but he just ran into a better competitor today.”
Reigns also discussed traveling to Los Angeles for the Street Fighter premiere. He stressed that defending his championship in New Orleans took priority over the appearance.
With Knight defeated, Reigns leaves Money in the Bank still holding the title and embracing the demands that come with it. His immediate focus is recovery, but his message to prospective challengers was confident.
