Summary

– Juan Bailey was arrested after allegedly threatening his roommate during a dispute over a PlayStation 5

– Police determined the disagreement over the console was a civil matter rather than a theft case

– Bailey was charged with intimidation after allegedly threatening to attack his roommate with a baseball bat

An Evansville man was arrested after police say a dispute over a PlayStation 5 escalated into threats of violence.

Officers were called to Devonshire Place on Saturday after Juan Bailey reported that his roommate had stolen his PlayStation 5. Before police arrived, Bailey reportedly contacted dispatch again and said he was ready to do something bad.

Bailey told responding officers that he was angry because his roommate had sold the console. He claimed both men had contributed money toward the PlayStation 5, while the roommate told police the system belonged solely to him.

Officers determined that the ownership dispute was a civil matter rather than a criminal theft case.

Police say Bailey became upset with that decision and told officers they might have to take him to jail. He then allegedly made several threats against his roommate.

One of those threats involved a baseball bat located near the door, with police saying Bailey threatened to strike his roommate with it.

Bailey was taken into custody and transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail. He was charged with intimidation.
