Jack Bauer and Senator David Palmer’s first meeting in 24 Season 1 turned one of the day’s biggest misunderstandings into a tense face-to-face showdown.
Palmer arrives at CTU trying to speak with Jack, but Ryan Chappelle initially blocks him because Jack is under internal investigation. Palmer quickly cuts through the red tape after getting help from Alan Optican at the Department of Defense.
Once Palmer gets access, he demands that all cameras and recording equipment be shut down. He wants a private conversation with Jack, away from CTU surveillance and outside interference.
Jack enters the room expecting another round of questioning, but Palmer immediately makes it clear that he believes Jack is involved in the threat against his life.
