The former Carl Grimes actor brings Ethan Winters to life in Biohazard
Summary
– Chandler Riggs has written, directed and starred in a Resident Evil 7 fan film called Biohazard
– The short focuses on Ethan Winters’ garage encounter with Jack Baker
– Its YouTube release is scheduled for October 14, 2026
Chandler Riggs is returning to survival horror with a project of his own. The actor known for playing Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead has written, directed and starred in Biohazard, a short fan adaptation of Resident Evil 7.
Riggs plays Ethan Winters, whose search for his missing wife leads him into the Baker family’s Louisiana home. Rather than retelling the entire game, the roughly 19-minute film concentrates on Ethan’s confrontation with Jack Baker in the garage.
Another Walking Dead actor joins him for the encounter. Jason Douglas, who played Tobin, takes on Jack, while Greg Nicotero supplied equipment for the production. The team used a former cigar factory in Tampa Bay to recreate part of the Baker property, emphasizing practical sets, effects and stunt work.
The adaptation also makes a notable visual change. Resident Evil 7 presents Ethan largely through a first-person perspective, but Riggs puts a face to the character for the live-action short.
Biohazard is scheduled to arrive on YouTube on October 14, 2026. It is an unofficial fan production, separate from Zach Cregger’s theatrical Resident Evil film.
Riggs has expressed interest in making a feature-length adaptation and working with Cregger in the future. Those comments describe his ambitions rather than an announced studio role.
