Aalyah Mysterio may be taking a serious step toward a possible wrestling career.
Rey Mysterio shared a new update on his daughter during an appearance on the Six Feet Under podcast. The WWE Hall of Famer said Aalyah is preparing to spend more time at the WWE Performance Center after testing herself in the ring.
Rey said the process started after Aalyah showed interest in training. She first stepped into the ring with him last October and quickly enjoyed the experience.
That led Rey to set up a longer test run. Aalyah later spent two weeks training at the Performance Center to see if she could handle the daily schedule.
According to Rey, she loved that experience as well. He said she is now getting ready to establish herself at the Performance Center and see where the journey takes her.
Rey explained that Aalyah had asked him to take her into the ring before, but he told her he would do it after she graduated. She later graduated from UCSD with a degree in Human Biology and reminded him of that promise.
The update surprised Rey, who admitted he never expected either of his children to enter wrestling, possibly. Dominik Mysterio has already built his own WWE career, and now Aalyah could be starting her own path.
Rey said it will be interesting to watch her development over the next year. He also mentioned the possibility of creating more family history if Aalyah continues wrestling.
The Mysterio family has already made WWE history, with Rey and Dominik becoming the first father and son to win tag team gold together. Rey also later feuded with Dominik, adding another major chapter to their family story.
With Aalyah now showing interest, Rey said he wonders what kind of history they could create together. At the same time, he made it clear that her happiness comes first.
Rey said he will be there to guide her if she needs advice, but he does not want her to feel trapped by the family name. He said wrestling has to come from the heart, and if Aalyah decides it is not for her, he will support that, too.
For now, Aalyah’s next step is the Performance Center. If she sticks with it, the Mysterio name could have another generation ready to build a WWE legacy.
