– The eight-episode Prime Video thriller centers on a town where residents cannot age or die
Lauren Cohan has landed another role in a horror series based on a comic, joining the cast of Stillwater for Prime Video.
The actress, known for playing Maggie in The Walking Dead and Dead City, will portray Catherine “Cat” Keegan. Mark O’Brien and Mia Tomlinson have also signed on as series regulars, joining previously announced lead Ben Hardy.
Cat is a former homecoming queen carrying years of resentment and regret. Her loyalty to her husband, sheriff’s deputy Ted Keegan, has helped her rationalize the measures they take to keep their community’s secret.
O’Brien will play Ted, a military veteran who also works as a farmer and raises a family. His job involves enforcing Stillwater’s harsh rules, including through violence, while concealing information that threatens his household.
Tomlinson will portray Laura Quinn, Cat’s younger sister. A single mother, Laura faces a decision with lasting consequences when life in her hometown suddenly changes.
The story follows Hardy’s Daniel West, a former convict drawn to Stillwater by a letter offering an inheritance and answers about his history. Once there, he discovers that the residents do not grow older or die, and leaving is not an option.
The eight-episode adaptation comes from the graphic novel by Chip Zdarsky and Ramón K. Pérez. Greg Berlanti and Carly Wray serve as writers and executive producers, with Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions, Skybound Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios producing the series.
