Drew McIntyre Teases Big WWE Return

Drew McIntyre Says WWE Return Will Be a Big Deal

Hollywood commitments remain his focus as he holds off on a comeback.

Summary

– Drew McIntyre expects his eventual WWE return to be a major moment

– He says the six-month break is unlike anything he has experienced since starting his career

– His acting work remains the priority, with no return date announced

Drew McIntyre expects his next WWE appearance to carry extra significance after an unusually long stretch away from the ring. Fans hoping that means an immediate comeback, however, will have to wait.

Asked about returning during a recent interview, McIntyre said WWE remains his home. His attention is currently on acting, and he made clear that his wrestling return is “not right now.”

McIntyre explained that he has never taken a six-month break from wrestling since beginning his professional career at 15. After spending so much of his life competing, he expects stepping back into WWE to mean something personally as well as to the audience.

“When I get back eventually, it’s going to be a big deal,” he said.

Those comments express his expectations rather than announce a date, opponent or storyline. He did not commit to an appearance on the European tour when the subject came up.

His last match was against Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42 in April. Since then, his acting schedule has included the Highlander reboot and The Last Druid, giving him an extended run of work outside WWE.

McIntyre was also promoting Agent of Shadows, a project involving WWE and ReelShort. His growing list of screen roles provides context for why an imminent wrestling comeback is not currently his focus.

He has maintained a connection to the ring, sharing training footage in September that prompted renewed interest in his status. That activity alone did not establish when he would return to television.

For now, McIntyre is leaving the timing open. His message is that he intends to come back and expects the moment to matter, while his current commitments continue elsewhere.
