Sony is bringing a Midnight Black PS5 Digital Edition to Japan on November 19, 2026, with a matching controller included.
The console carries a suggested retail price of ¥55,000, including tax. Preorders begin October 20 through participating Japanese retailers and online stores, according to Sony’s announcement.
Buyers should pay attention to the regional restrictions. This model is intended for use in Japan, supports Japanese as its system language and requires a PlayStation account with its country or region set to Japan.
Inside, the console includes an 825GB SSD and retains familiar PS5 features such as 3D audio, DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. It also supports compatible PS4 games.
A disc drive is not included. Sony will sell a matching Midnight Black drive separately on November 19 for ¥11,980, including tax. An internet connection is required to pair the drive with the console, and the vertical stand is sold separately.
The announcement covers the Japanese market. Sony has not announced an international release for this specific model.
