Summary
– GTA VI may reportedly launch on PC during Q1 2027
– Rockstar has not officially confirmed a PC version
– The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release remains scheduled for November 19, 2026
Grand Theft Auto VI could arrive on PC far sooner than Rockstar Games’ previous major releases, according to a new GamesBeat report.
GamesBeat reported on October 13 that Rockstar is planning to release the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI during the first quarter of 2027. The report cites four industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans, although all requested anonymity.
Rockstar has not officially announced a PC version, and the company did not respond to GamesBeat’s request for comment. The reported January through March 2027 window should therefore be treated as unconfirmed.
If accurate, the PC release would arrive no more than four months after the game’s scheduled console launch. Rockstar currently lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the console version scheduled for November 19, 2026.
That would represent a much faster turnaround than Grand Theft Auto V, which reached PC roughly 19 months after its original console release. Red Dead Redemption 2 also took more than a year to arrive on PC.
The report also highlights the importance of PC gaming to Rockstar’s future plans. The company has shown interest in user-generated content, while its acquisition of Cfx.re strengthened its connection to the role-playing community surrounding Grand Theft Auto V.
A faster PC release could become especially significant if Rockstar plans to expand role-playing tools or other user-created content for Grand Theft Auto VI. However, the report does not provide a specific launch date, storefront details, system requirements or possible PC-exclusive features.
For now, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S remain the only officially confirmed platforms. The November 19, 2026 release date is official, while the reported Q1 2027 PC window remains unconfirmed.
