Speaking with Ring the Belle, Serrano discussed her time teaming with Sonya Deville and Shayna Baszler in WWE. The conversation revived the assumptions fans have held about her since their days in the Pure Fusion Collective.
Serrano said she appreciates the LGBTQ+ fans who support her but wants people to understand that she is an ally, not a member of the community.
She explained that even photos with her husband still lead to comments questioning her sexuality.
Serrano also recalled how she, Deville, and Baszler joked about the group’s reputation backstage. She said the trio often joked that she was “more gay than Sonya and straighter than Shayna.”
