Aalyah Gutierrez is officially part of WWE’s newest Performance Center recruit class, bringing another member of the Mysterio family into the company’s training system.
WWE announced the class on September 17, confirming that Aalyah is now training in Orlando alongside recruits from wrestling, amateur sports, and reality television.
Aalyah’s addition follows months of progress at the Performance Center. She was previously listed internally under the Gutierrez name after beginning her training.
Rey Mysterio has praised his daughter’s early development, saying she has picked things up quickly after roughly a month of training.
Aalyah’s path into wrestling has been different from Dominik’s. Dominik grew up around WWE and appeared on television from a young age, while Aalyah completed her education before deciding to pursue the family business.
Rey has also stressed that Aalyah must earn her own opportunities. The Mysterio name may attract attention, but she will still need to develop her skills and prove herself inside the ring.
Fans may remember Aalyah from WWE television, where she appeared during the 2020 storyline involving Rey, Dominik, Seth Rollins, and Murphy. She also attended WrestleMania 39 for Rey’s match against Dominik.
Other members of the recruit class include former TNA referee Alice Lane, WWE ID talent Zoë Sager, amateur wrestler Cara Brown, Brazilian shot put champion Ana da Silva, and Australian wrestling team The Dropouts.
There is no announced date for Aalyah’s in-ring debut, and WWE has not confirmed whether she will eventually wrestle under the Mysterio name.
For now, Aalyah is focused on training and following her own path. If she continues progressing, WWE could soon have three active generations of the Mysterio family connected to the company.
