The challenge was established during the August 21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Toronto. Williams entered alongside Yachty and demanded another opportunity at Corbin’s United States Championship. Still, Corbin rejected the request, noting that Williams had already lost the title and failed to regain it in their rematch.
Things quickly escalated when Yachty grabbed a Singapore cane and attacked Corbin, forcing the champion out of the ring. Corbin responded by offering Williams another route to a championship match, although the opportunity comes with an unusual condition involving Yachty.
Corbin will face Yachty at Sunday Night’s Main Event in the rapper’s hometown, with a five-minute time limit determining what happens next. Yachty does not need to defeat Corbin. He only needs to remain in the match until the full five minutes expire.
If Yachty survives, Williams will receive another United States Championship match against Corbin. If Corbin defeats Yachty before the time limit expires, Williams loses his opportunity, and Corbin will consider their championship rivalry finished.
Yachty considered the challenge before accepting, officially putting himself between Williams and another chance at the United States Championship. Corbin responded by warning the rapper that the five-minute challenge would feel much longer once they were standing across from each other inside the ring.
