The champions shut down an attack after their tribute to Charlotte Flair

Summary

– Tatum Paxley thanked Charlotte Flair for helping her compete last week

– Fatal Influence questioned Flair’s friendship with the champions

– Alexa Bliss and Paxley fought off the group’s attack

Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley sent Fatal Influence retreating after the group interrupted their celebration on the October 16 episode of SmackDown.

Paxley began by thanking Charlotte Flair for giving up her place the previous week so she could still compete. She also acknowledged the times Flair had defended her and promised a special gift when Charlotte was healed and ready to return.

Before Paxley could reveal the surprise, Fatal Influence interrupted.

Jacy Jayne mocked the speech before shifting attention to her own frustrations. Sporting an injured arm, she claimed Tiffany Stratton had stolen the Money in the Bank briefcase that should have belonged to her.

The group then tried to undermine the champions’ relationship with Flair. Paxley was told that Charlotte considered her a weirdo and only tolerated her because of Bliss.

Alexa received a similar warning. Fatal Influence suggested Flair’s friendship was based on convenience and claimed she could not genuinely be happy watching Bliss hold a championship without her.

They also predicted that once Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid regained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, Bliss would return to living in Charlotte’s shadow.

Bliss answered by inviting them to try taking the titles back.

Jayne said she could not compete that night, but Henley and Reid could handle the situation. The former champions immediately attacked, only for Bliss and Paxley to turn the fight around.

Henley took a spill to the outside, with Reid soon following her. Bliss then struck Jayne, and Paxley targeted her injured arm as the champions cleared the ring.

Fatal Influence arrived looking to create doubt between the champions and Flair. Instead, Bliss and Paxley stood together and fought off the attack, keeping the challengers from spoiling their celebration.
