A mistaken identity leads to a warning about Halloween
Summary
– Gunther thought he was addressing Nick Aldis in his office
– Danhausen reminded Gunther that he had not pinned him
– Gunther threatened to make Halloween a special night for Danhausen
Gunther found himself addressing the wrong person during SmackDown when an apparent conversation with Nick Aldis turned into another confrontation with Danhausen.
The Ring General entered the office expecting to discuss his treatment of Danhausen the previous week. Before receiving a response, he defended his actions and dismissed Danhausen as someone who did not belong in a wrestling ring.
Gunther claimed he had done Aldis a favor by hurting him. He also warned that Finn Bálor had suffered the consequences of interfering in his business.
Growing irritated by the lack of acknowledgment, Gunther demanded to know whether Aldis was listening. Danhausen then revealed himself, catching Gunther off guard.
The surprise did little to soften Gunther’s attitude. He mocked Danhausen for returning after their previous encounter, although he credited him with being tougher than Bálor, whom he said he had not seen that day.
Danhausen explained that he needed Bálor’s ability to detect evil before pointing out an unresolved detail from his match with Gunther.
“You didn’t actually pin Danhausen.”
That reminder prompted Gunther to move toward him. Danhausen quickly pleaded to be allowed to live until at least Halloween, giving Gunther another opening to threaten him.
“Do I look like I celebrate Halloween?” Gunther asked.
He then promised to make Halloween a very special night for Danhausen before the exchange ended with a physical shove.
Danhausen managed to surprise Gunther and challenge his claim of superiority. Still, the encounter left him facing another threat. Gunther’s Halloween warning added tension without establishing exactly what he intends to do.
