WWE trade sends former Judgment Day member to Fridays
Summary
– Finn Bálor has officially been traded from RAW to Friday Night SmackDown
– The move follows weeks of tension between Bálor and his former Judgment Day allies
– Bálor remains part of the King of the Ring tournament as he begins a new chapter
Finn Bálor’s run on WWE RAW has come to an end after the company officially moved him to Friday Night SmackDown.
The trade was announced during the June 1 episode of RAW and follows weeks of issues involving Bálor, JD McDonagh, and Dominik Mysterio after the collapse of their alliance.
Bálor’s final match as a RAW superstar took place on May 18, when he defeated JD McDonagh. The victory only intensified the growing hostility between the former Judgment Day teammates.
Following the announcement, Byron Saxton spoke with McDonagh about Bálor’s departure. McDonagh made it clear that there is no love lost between the two sides.
Speaking on behalf of Judgment Day, McDonagh said Bálor would not be missed and claimed that he left RAW because he knew the group would eventually end his career if he stayed.
The move also clarifies Bálor’s position in the ongoing King of the Ring tournament. He is scheduled to compete in a first-round Fatal 4-Way match against Royce Keys, LA Knight, and Jey Uso as WWE continues building toward Night of Champions.
A switch to SmackDown creates several fresh opportunities for Bálor. New opponents, storylines, and championship possibilities now become available as he starts over on a different brand.
At the same time, the comments from McDonagh suggest that the conflict with Judgment Day is far from over. Even with Bálor now on SmackDown, the bad blood between the former allies remains strong.
With King of the Ring underway and a brand change now official, Bálor enters a new phase of his WWE career. Whether it leads to tournament success or another showdown with his former stablemates remains to be seen.
