The two were set for singles competition during Friday Night SmackDown in Toronto, with WWE promoting the bout as Monroe’s first official match on the blue brand. Instead, Monroe attacked Giulia during her entrance before the opening bell could sound.
Monroe beat Giulia down at ringside and sent her into the steel ring steps before connecting with a headbutt. She then delivered The Neutralizer, left Giulia down, and walked away as her music played.
Because the referee never called for the bell, the scheduled match was never officially underway. That means Monroe’s advertised SmackDown in-ring debut did not technically take place despite her physical involvement in the segment.
Earlier in the show, Monroe spoke backstage about the upcoming match and argued that her debut should have been for the WWE Championship. She referred to Giulia as an old friend while also taking a shot at Toronto, suggesting that someone like her deserved to compete in Milan or Paris instead.
