Gamescom Opening Night Live delivered a packed slate of PlayStation announcements, with 19 upcoming games highlighted for PS5 during the event in Cologne, Germany.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation was among the biggest showcases of the night. Square Enix revealed more of Cloud and his companions traveling aboard the Highwind while also teasing the powerful Weapons and the growing crisis threatening the planet. The game is scheduled to launch in Spring 2027.

Metro 2039 also received new gameplay ahead of its February 2027 release. The latest trailer focused on the protagonist, The Stranger, while showing more combat, weapons, and exploration across environments both above and below ground.

Exodus received an April 7, 2027, release date for PS5. The new trailer featured Jun Aslan alongside Salt, an intelligent Awakened octopus companion, as the pair fight to protect the place they call home.

Several games arriving sooner also received attention. Aniimo launches September 16, while Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall are both scheduled for September 24. Mewgenics arrives September 8, and Valor Mortis follows on October 13.

Path of Exile 2 will officially reach Version 1.0 on December 11. Grinding Gear Games says the full release will bring major additions across the campaign, endgame, character progression, skills, and loot.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy received a launch trailer ahead of its August 27 release. The footage offered another look at Sophia’s journey on Minotaur Island while highlighting combat, exploration, and the mysterious threat at the story’s center.

Several 2027 projects were also showcased. Acornia: Mirror Worlds mixes dessert shop management with dungeon combat, while Ananta launches January 15 with an urban open-world RPG experience set around a new city inspired by Shanghai and Hangzhou.

Turok: Origins is targeting Spring 2027 with solo and cooperative sci-fi action. Rainbow Six Tactics is also planned for 2027 and shifts Ubisoft’s franchise into a single-player turn-based format built around commanding elite operators.

Frictional Games showed new gameplay from Ontos, its spiritual successor to Soma, while Wizards of the Coast presented an extended look at Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons. LEGO Skylines, Tides of Annihilation, and Exterminauts were also featured, although release dates remain unconfirmed.

Crimson Desert received an enhanced update that is now available to existing owners. The update includes new story content, expanded language support, and additional improvements built on changes released since launch.

Gamescom’s PlayStation lineup covered RPGs, horror, tactical games, shooters, city builders, and more, with releases stretching from August 2026 into 2027. The showcase gave PS5 players a much clearer look at what is coming over the next year.
