ININ Games confirms a longer wait for the upgraded release
Summary
– Shenmue 3 Enhanced has been delayed from 2026 to early 2027
– Developers are taking additional time to finalize improvements
– The upgraded edition will feature camera and stamina system changes
Shenmue fans will have to wait longer to revisit Ryo Hazuki’s adventure on PlayStation 5. Shenmue 3 Enhanced has officially been pushed into early 2027 after previously being scheduled for release in 2026.
The updated release window was confirmed through a newsletter from publisher ININ Games, as reported by Shenmue Dojo. The company explained that development is progressing but additional time is needed to complete the remaining work.
Ys Net is developing an enhanced edition to improve the experience of the original Shenmue III, which launched on PlayStation 4 in 2019.
Among the planned changes are a revamped camera and an optional stamina system. These improvements are intended to address aspects of the original release while preserving the game’s familiar adventure experience.
The new version will also bring Shenmue III to modern gaming platforms, giving returning players and newcomers another opportunity to follow Ryo’s journey.
Although ININ Games has confirmed an early 2027 release window, an exact launch date has not been announced. Additional details are expected as development nears completion.
