Wagner and Galeno advance as Fatu gets revenge
Summary
– El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno defeated BirthRight to reach the semifinals
– Zilla Fatu disrupted the faction’s ringside advantage
– Charlie Dempsey targeted Fatu’s injured hand after the match
Zilla Fatu helped bring BirthRight’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic run to an end, intervening as El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno defeated Lexis King and Charlie Dempsey on NXT.
The AAA World Tag Team Champions faced resistance from both their opponents and the BirthRight members at ringside. Arianna Grace became involved before Wagner launched himself outside onto the group.
Galeno then built momentum with a knee, repeated clotheslines, and a body slam to King. A splash produced another close call, but BirthRight stayed alive.
King created an opening by catching Wagner with both knees during an aerial attempt. Before his team could capitalize, Fatu arrived and dropped Uriah Connors.
His appearance sent Grace backing away and disrupted BirthRight at a crucial moment. King was tossed aside, while Dempsey was taken out of the action.
Wagner and Galeno followed with a Michinoku Driver and a frog splash to secure the pinfall and advance to the semifinals.
Fatu’s involvement was payback for BirthRight’s earlier attack, which had left him nursing an injured right hand after the group targeted it against the steel steps.
He continued going after the faction following the bell, taking down King and Connors before looking to deliver Triple Z again.
Dempsey interrupted by attacking the injured hand, giving Fatu another painful reminder of the damage BirthRight had already caused.
Wagner and Galeno left with the tournament victory, while Fatu made clear that BirthRight’s attack had not driven him away. The faction now has to contend with his pursuit of revenge after losing its chance to advance.
