BirthRight advanced in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic on the October 6 episode of WWE NXT, defeating the Tokyo Bad Boys after surviving several close calls.
Lexis King and Charlie Dempsey faced a fast-paced challenge from Kento and Takuma. Kento connected with a crossbody, while Takuma followed with a hurricanrana and a dive to the floor.
The Tokyo Bad Boys continued their aerial offense with a springboard clothesline, a Spanish Fly, and a 450 Splash. Their attack nearly secured the victory, but King broke up the pin to keep BirthRight in the tournament.
That save allowed Dempsey to take control. He delivered a superplex before sending Takuma into the turnbuckle.
Dempsey then connected with a gut-wrench suplex and held Takuma’s shoulders down for the three-count, securing BirthRight’s place in the next round.
The Tokyo Bad Boys threatened to pull off the win, but King’s timely intervention and Dempsey’s finishing sequence proved decisive.
