Xia Brookside survived a brutal No Disqualification match against Léi Yǐng Lee to retain the TNA Knockouts World Championship.
The former friends wasted no time turning the rivalry physical, as Lee attacked Brookside before the bell and immediately brought the fight to the champion.
With no disqualifications or countouts, both women were free to use anything they could find. Lee entered with confidence and controlled the early stages with her striking, but Brookside quickly found a weakness.
The champion went back to the strategy that helped her at Slammiversary by targeting Lee’s left leg. Brookside used Lee’s metal fan to stab at the knee before wrapping a leather belt around the damaged limb and stretching it beyond its limit.
Brookside continued the punishment by using the belt buckle around her fist and repeatedly attacking Lee’s leg. The damage made it difficult for Lee to stand and stopped her from fully using her strongest kicks.
Lee refused to quit and fought back with a spinning heel kick, a knee strike, and an explosive dropkick. She also introduced steel chairs, a kendo stick, and a table as the match became even more dangerous.
Brookside regained control with the kendo stick and later tried to use the championship belt as a weapon. She took too long, allowing Lee to recover and unleash several steel chair shots.
Lee then placed Brookside across a pile of chairs and climbed to the top rope, but her injured leg gave her trouble, and she crashed hard after missing the attack.
Brookside capitalized by striking Lee in the face with the Knockouts World Championship, but the challenger still kicked out.
The finish came when Brookside used a steel chair to block Lee’s final strike before planting her headfirst onto another chair with Dark Side.
Brookside secured the pin and kept the TNA Knockouts World Championship, ending the violent battle with her former best friend.
