CM Punk, Chelsea Green, and Rey Fenix prepare to defend their championships during WWE SmackDown in Mexico City

WWE SmackDown Preview for September 11, 2026

Three championships will be defended during WWE’s loaded show in Mexico City

Summary

– CM Punk will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Sami Zayn

– Chelsea Green, Rey Fenix, and The War Raiders will also put their titles on the line

– Nikki Bella will face Paige while Cody Rhodes returns following his loss to Randy Orton

WWE SmackDown will present a championship-heavy lineup from Arena CDMX in Mexico City on September 11, 2026.

CM Punk will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Sami Zayn. Punk captured the title from Zayn before successfully defending it against Johnny Gargano last week.

Zayn refused to allow Punk to move forward without giving him another opportunity. He challenged the champion to a rematch and will now attempt to regain the title in Mexico City.

Chelsea Green will return to the ring after receiving medical clearance. The Interim WWE Women’s Champion will defend her title against Nia Jax while continuing to wear a protective mask.

Jax earned the opportunity after defeating Tiffany Stratton with assistance from Lash Legend. She then turned her attention toward Green and the championship.

Rey Fenix will defend the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against Ricky Saints. Fenix will compete in his home country as Saints attempts to turn his recent challenges into a championship victory.

The War Raiders will also put the AAA Tag Team Championship on the line. Erik and Ivar will defend against the unexpected team of Damian Priest and R-Truth.

Nikki Bella and Paige will finally meet in a singles match following several weeks of personal attacks. Their rivalry intensified after both women crossed personal lines during a recent confrontation on SmackDown.

Cody Rhodes is also scheduled to appear following his controversial loss to Randy Orton at Sunday Night’s Main Event. WWE has not revealed what Rhodes will address during the show.

The September 11 SmackDown lineup includes CM Punk against Sami Zayn, Chelsea Green against Nia Jax, Rey Fenix against Ricky Saints, The War Raiders against Damian Priest and R-Truth, and Nikki Bella against Paige.

SmackDown will begin at 8 PM ET on the USA Network. International viewers can watch the show through Netflix in available markets.
