Trick Williams is officially heading to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match after surviving a chaotic triple threat on the September 18 episode of SmackDown.
Williams faced Rey Fenix and Randy Orton in a high-stakes qualifying match. The action quickly spilled around ringside, with Orton attacking both Fenix and Williams near the announce desk.
Fenix nearly stole the victory after hitting Orton with a frog splash. The Viper kicked out just before three, keeping the match alive.
Orton later regained control and dropped Fenix with a superplex before hitting a powerslam on Williams. Fenix responded with “Goodbye, Amigo,” leaving Orton vulnerable.
Williams then sent Fenix to the floor and blasted Orton with a spin kick. Orton survived the attack, but Fenix remained in danger.
The finish came when Orton caught Fenix with an RKO from the top rope. Williams immediately followed with the Trick Shot, covered Fenix, and secured the three-count.
The victory sends Williams to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match in New Orleans. It also gives the current United States Champion another major opportunity to add even more momentum to his second reign.
