AMC Global Media and Ares Interactive are preparing the new free-to-play roguelite game for a planned Summer 2026 release on the App Store and Google Play. More platforms are expected to be announced later.
Pre-registration is now open through the App Store at, with early players set to receive bonus rewards at launch. Those rewards include T-Dog, a rare gear item, and extra survival supplies.
Swift Games is developing the title after its work on Heroes vs. Hordes. The game is built around roguelite survival runs, meaning each mission can shift through changing enemy spawns, random upgrades, and different environmental challenges.
Players will fight through locations tied to AMC’s Walking Dead universe, including Hershel’s Farm, Woodbury, Terminus, and Alexandria. Combat runs will include walkers, hostile survivor groups, and larger boss encounters.
The game also includes a base-building system outside of combat. Survivors can construct defenses, manage resources, and take on camp roles that unlock new bonuses and help the group last longer.
The Walking Dead: Aftermath is being positioned as the first official roguelite game set inside AMC’s version of the franchise. It adds another piece to a television universe that already includes Fear the Walking Dead, Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and The Ones Who Live.
Ares Interactive plans to support the game after launch with regular updates, new chapters, added survivors, and limited-time events.
