Major PlayStation titles get trailers, dates, and surprise updates

Summer Game Fest 2026 delivered a strong wave of PlayStation news, giving PS5 players a closer look at several major games coming over the next year and beyond.
Ubisoft opened the spotlight with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which arrives July 9. The new trailer featured Leave Her Johnny Resynced, a fresh version of the classic sea shanty performed by Woodkid, while setting the stage for another journey across the high seas.
Remedy Entertainment also showed more from Control Resonant, which launches September 24. The sequel shifts focus to Dylan Faden as Manhattan becomes twisted by paranormal forces, with players exploring new zones, missions, puzzles, bosses, and areas tied to the Oldest House.
Square Enix gave fans a major look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, set for 2027. The game will bring the battle against Sephiroth toward its final stage as players explore a massive world, face global threats, and fight with the full party.
Capcom confirmed Resident Evil Veronica for 2027, bringing back the classic Code: Veronica story with updated gameplay, a reworked narrative, and modern visuals. The remake is expected to keep the core survival horror feel while giving the experience a fresh presentation.
Other notable reveals included Crossfire from That’s No Moon, gen Atlas from gen Design, Guild Wars 3 from ArenaNet, Gundam Rogue Orbit from Bandai Namco, and Lords of the Fallen II from CI Games. Each title showed a different side of the PS5 lineup, from stealth action and open-world adventure to MMORPG gameplay and dark fantasy combat.
Several games also received firm release dates. Mafia: The Old Country – Man of Honor arrives August 14, RuneScape: Dragonwilds launches September 15, The Blood of Dawnwalker arrives September 3, Star Wars: Galactic Racer releases October 6, and Stranger Than Heaven is set for January 15, 2027.
Sega also outlined more content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DLC in July, Avatar DLC in October, and a second season pass featuring Godzilla and Evangelion content.
Swords of Legends rounded out the showcase with a new trailer focused on combat, the Spirit Companion system, and a boss battle inspired by classical Chinese stage magic.
The PS5 slate from Summer Game Fest 2026 offered a mix of sequels, remakes, expansions, and fresh franchises. With major names and new projects spread across 2026 and 2027, PlayStation players have plenty to watch as release dates get closer.
