– He credited Nattie and TJ Wilson’s setup for helping wrestlers improve together
AJ Styles came away impressed after spending time at The Dungeon, the Tampa-based wrestling school run by Nattie and TJ Wilson.
During an episode of the Phenomenally Retro Podcast, Styles spoke highly of the facility and the way the classes are handled. He said the visit gave him a closer look at a professional setup that focuses on teamwork, timing, and growth.
Styles explained that the invite-only format stood out to him because it allows wrestlers to train closely and improve as a group. He also said he may use that approach whenever he opens his own training facility.
TJ Wilson was not at the school during Styles’ visit because he was overseas for Clash in Italy, but Nattie was there running things. Styles praised her and said the experience was enjoyable from start to finish.
The former WWE Champion also noted that the class size was around 20 to 25 people. He liked how the drills forced everyone to stay involved, remember details, and work through the flow of a match together.
Styles said that type of training helps wrestlers sharpen their minds as well as their bodies. He felt the exercises were structured so that everyone could think, adjust, and learn as a group.
Styles has also talked before about wanting to open his own invite-only wrestling school one day. After seeing The Dungeon up close, it appears that Nattie and TJ Wilson’s system left a strong impression on him.
