Shinsuke Nakamura and KYOKI may already have a name for their new alliance, with WWE’s previously filed Bakusai trademark now appearing to fit the pairing.
WWE filed for the Bakusai name back in June, but there was little indication at the time regarding how the company planned to use it. The trademark immediately drew speculation, including theories that it could be connected to Hiromu Takahashi.
That possibility now looks much more plausible following Takahashi’s WWE debut on the August 21 episode of SmackDown. He was revealed as Nakamura’s mystery partner under the new name KYOKI after Nakamura teased that an experienced and dangerous ally was coming to help him.
KYOKI immediately aligned himself with Nakamura against Tama Tonga, Talla Tonga, and the rest of the MFTs, establishing the two Japanese stars as a unit moving forward.
With that partnership now in place, Bakusai has a natural connection to Nakamura and KYOKI. The timing of the trademark filing, combined with Takahashi’s arrival and new WWE identity, has strengthened speculation that the name is intended for their team.
WWE has not officially referred to Nakamura and KYOKI as Bakusai on television, so the connection should not be treated as confirmed yet. The company could still use the trademark for something else or change its plans before formally introducing a team name.
For now, Nakamura and KYOKI are clearly aligned on SmackDown, and Bakusai has emerged as the strongest clue yet regarding how WWE could brand the pairing.
