WWE star explains why his medical history affects decisions about recovery peptides
Summary
– Roman Reigns said he remains under medical care for chronic myelogenous leukemia
– He explained why he avoids recovery peptides and other invasive treatments
– Reigns said his condition is controlled but still shows small molecular traces
Roman Reigns has opened up about his ongoing battle with chronic myelogenous leukemia and the precautions he takes with his health.
During an interview with Men’s Health, Reigns was asked about recovery peptides and whether he had considered using them to help with training and recovery.
The WWE star said his medical history forces him to be extremely careful about anything he puts into his body. Reigns explained that he cannot take unnecessary risks with invasive treatments or supplements while continuing to monitor his CML.
Reigns said his condition is currently under control and below the baseline that doctors monitor. However, he explained that achieving molecular remission requires reducing the disease to nearly zero, and small traces are still present.
Because of that, Reigns said he prefers to continue relying on training, discipline, and hard work instead of experimenting with treatments he does not fully understand.
He added that any future decision involving peptides would need to be discussed with his doctor. Reigns also admitted that he does not consider himself an expert on the subject, but said his personal experience has made him cautious.
The former Universal Champion first revealed his leukemia diagnosis in 2018. He explained that at the time, he had originally been diagnosed at 22 years old before the disease returned after more than a decade.
Reigns announced the following year that he had reached remission and eventually returned to WWE competition. He has continued performing at the highest level while managing the condition and maintaining regular medical oversight.
His latest comments provide a reminder that the physical demands of professional wrestling are only one part of his routine. Reigns must also make careful decisions about his health away from the ring.
While he dismissed peptides as overrated for his personal situation, he made clear that his comments were based on his own medical history and not a recommendation for everyone else.
