Sony is turning the PS5 into a bigger entertainment hub with the launch of Live TV on PS5, a free ad-supported television service available to players in the United States.

Sony Pictures Television offers a new experience, including more than 100 live channels and a growing library of on-demand entertainment.

PS5 users can find the service through the Media tab on the console’s home screen. After selecting the Live TV icon on PS5, viewers can connect their PlayStation account and begin watching.

Programming at launch covers movies, traditional television, anime, sports, news, weather, gaming, esports, and creator-focused content.

Movie channels include MovieSphere by Lionsgate, 50 Cent Action, FilmRise Free Movies, Sony One Horror Hits, and Cinevault.

Television programming includes shows such as Community, The Shield, Hell’s Kitchen, The Walking Dead, Forensic Files, Unsolved Mysteries, Deal or No Deal USA, Fear Factor, and Ice Road Truckers.

Anime fans will have access to programming including Naruto, Sailor Moon, Hunter x Hunter, and Death Note. Crunchyroll is also providing dedicated Black Clover and Box Sets channels.

Sports coverage includes content from FOX Sports, NASCAR, NBC Sports Now, and UFC, with programming spanning MMA, football, hockey, motorsports, golf, boxing, and soccer.

News and weather options include NBC News Now, Fox Weather, and LiveNOW from FOX.

Sony is also incorporating creator and specialty programming, including Hot Ones, Spotify’s The Ringer, Futcrunch, and Idle Mode, along with gaming, esports, documentaries, and podcasts.

The company says the lineup will continue to change over time with refreshed programming, additional channels, and more content.

Sony is also looking to expand Live TV on PS5 into Canada and explore additional regions beyond the initial U.S. rollout.
