Sony’s next monthly lineup could bring another horror favorite

September’s PlayStation Plus Essential games will leave the service soon, giving subscribers a short window to claim Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes.
Sony is expected to reveal the October 2026 lineup on Wednesday, September 30. The new games should then become available on Tuesday, October 6.
No credible leaks have surfaced yet. Dealabs leaker billbil-kun remains the most likely source if an early reveal appears before Sony’s announcement.
October lineups often include darker or horror-themed games, making Resident Evil 4 Remake one of the strongest predictions. Capcom’s acclaimed remake is now old enough to become a realistic Essential offering, and its horror setting would fit perfectly with the Halloween season.
Little Nightmares III is another possible addition. The creepy platforming adventure would give subscribers a spooky game without turning the entire lineup into survival horror.
Dispatch is also being considered as a wildcard. The superhero workplace adventure has no obvious Halloween connection, but its interactive story and management gameplay could add variety to the monthly selection.
Other possible candidates include Atomfall, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, Spider-Man 2, Stellar Blade, Blue Prince, Elden Ring, Death Stranding, Street Fighter 6, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Sony has already delivered several major games through PlayStation Plus in 2026, including Dying Light 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Lords of the Fallen, Monster Hunter Rise, and Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition.
PlayStation Plus Essential currently costs $10.99 per month, $27.99 every three months, or $79.99 annually in the United States; it adds $16.99 per month. Premium costs $19.99 per month.
Sony’s official announcement will reveal whether October brings a major horror title or another unexpected addition.
