The Ruler makes clear he intends to follow his own path
Summary
– Oba Femi celebrated defeating Bronson Reed at Money in the Bank
– Paul Heyman praised Femi as the future of WWE
– Femi interrupted Heyman and declared himself an Oba Femi guy
Oba Femi stopped Paul Heyman’s attempt to persuade him on the October 12 episode of Raw, making it clear he intends to succeed on his own terms.
Following his Money in the Bank victory over Bronson Reed, Femi said he had taught Reed the same lesson he had delivered to Bron Breakker and his other opponents. Size, strength, experience, and championship history would not change the outcome against him.
“The one thing that matters is that everyone will bend the knee,” Femi said.
He then declared that he could leave The Vision behind and continue pursuing his destiny. That brought out Heyman, who used Femi’s words to begin an enthusiastic endorsement.
Heyman highlighted Femi kicking out of Reed’s Tsunami at Money in the Bank. He also praised his progress, comparing Saturday’s performance with his matches against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania and SummerSlam.
“When we look towards the future of WWE, that’s the guy,” Heyman said.
As Heyman began connecting that praise to a vision for WWE’s future, Femi interrupted. He reminded Heyman of their history and the things he had said throughout the year.
Femi then distinguished himself from two of Heyman’s most prominent associates.
“I’m not Brock Lesnar, I am definitely not Roman Reigns. Those are Paul Heyman guys. I am an Oba Femi guy.”
The declaration drew cheers and ended Heyman’s pitch before it could go further. After overcoming Reed, Femi made clear that praise from Heyman would not persuade him to follow the same path as Lesnar or Reigns.
