Nikki Bella explained why she attacked Paige during the August 7 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Nikki said she worked hard to reach WrestleMania before the opportunity was taken away from her. She then made what she described as an unselfish decision to help Paige, whom she considered a friend.
According to Nikki, she single-handedly revitalized Paige’s career. However, she felt Paige repaid her by losing the tag team titles and repeatedly attaching herself to Brie Bella.
Nikki said Brie deserved better and explained that she did everything possible to return and fight alongside her sister.
She then blamed Paige for failing them again and causing Brie’s injury.
“Because of you, my sister is hurt,” Nikki told Paige. “Because of you, the Bella Twins aren’t together right now.”
Nikki declared that Paige had pushed her too far and promised to make her experience the same pain Brie is currently feeling.
She ended the message by warning that whatever remains of Paige’s career will become “pure misery.”
