WWE reportedly considered major IYO SKY title direction
Summary
– Liv Morgan was reportedly expected to face IYO SKY at WWE SummerSlam before creative changes
– WWE’s plans changed shortly after mapping out ideas from WrestleMania through SummerSlam
– Morgan remains active in Queen of the Ring while Stephanie Vaquer recovers from injury
Liv Morgan may have had a major SummerSlam match on WWE’s internal board before recent creative changes shifted the picture.
Self Made Pro said WWE had mapped out plans from WrestleMania through SummerSlam, but several ideas were changed shortly after that direction was put together. Before those changes, the reported expectation was for Morgan to face IYO SKY at SummerSlam.
That does not mean the match is locked in. WWE’s creative direction can change fast, and the report made it clear that Morgan vs. IYO SKY may no longer be the active plan.
Morgan’s current direction has also been tied to Stephanie Vaquer. Vaquer is out after suffering a legitimate second-degree AC joint sprain, leaving WWE to keep Morgan busy while waiting to see when that story can move forward.
Morgan is still part of the Queen of the Ring tournament. She is scheduled to face Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, and Chelsea Green on the June 8 episode of Monday Night RAW in a Fatal 4-Way match.
The winner of that match will move ahead in the tournament, giving Morgan another chance to build momentum while already holding the Women’s World Championship. Morgan previously said she entered Queen of the Ring because she wants it all.
IYO SKY has also advanced in the Queen of the Ring tournament. That keeps her close enough to Morgan’s path for a possible title story, depending on how WWE handles the bracket and the weeks ahead.
For now, Morgan’s SummerSlam direction remains uncertain. WWE could still move toward IYO SKY, wait for Stephanie Vaquer, or take the Women’s World Championship picture in a different direction.
