Liv Morgan remained beside Dominik Mysterio after his painful AAA Mega Championship loss at TripleManía 34 Night Two.
New footage from the September 13 event showed Morgan consoling a visibly devastated Dominik as they slowly walked backstage together.
Dominik had lost the championship to El Grande Americano in a chaotic No DQ match at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
Morgan did everything she could to help Dominik retain the title. She knocked Americano from the top rope, allowing Dominik to connect with a 619 and a frog splash.
Americano was kicked out before the match continued to fall apart. JD McDonagh, Rayo, and Bravo Americano and Omos also became involved during the title fight.
After the original referee went down, Dominik struck Americano with the AAA Mega Championship and attempted another frog splash. Americano moved and later connected with a running headbutt.
Americano had Dominik beaten, but there was no referee available to count the pinfall. Rey Mysterio then entered wearing a referee shirt and neck brace.
Rey slid into the ring and counted his son’s shoulders down, officially making El Grande Americano the new AAA Mega Champion.
The post-show footage showed how difficult the loss was for Dominik. Morgan could not save his championship reign, but she stayed beside him as he made the emotional walk backstage.
