Summary

– Cena shaved his head for the treatment and thanked his doctor and medical team

– He previously explained that scalp care is a daily part of maintaining transplant results

John Cena is being completely open about the next step in his hair restoration journey.

The WWE legend revealed on Twitter that he underwent a second FUE hair transplant procedure. Cena also shared a photo of himself, with his head shaved, standing with his doctor.

“Round 2 of FUE Treatment and this time I went all in for best possible results. Thank you @KenAndersonMD and the staff at Anderson Center for Hair for accompanying me on this journey!”

The update shows that Cena is not treating the process like a quick fix. His second procedure follows his public remarks about the work that goes into recovery and long-term scalp care.

While speaking to Inside the Ring, Cena explained that the first two weeks after the procedure are especially important. He said the scalp cannot get wet during that period because it is still healing.

“So it’s a surgery, right? The first 14 days are the most important—you can’t get it wet. It’s open wounds, your head swells, and as the swelling comes down, your skull looks a little bit different.”

Cena also said his original transplant was connected to a movie role in Budapest. Even then, the experience taught him that the surgery itself is only part of the process.

“I got the transplant to prepare for a movie in Budapest. I was walking with Chris Martin with an alien head. Honestly, the transplant is one thing—my doctor educated me on scalp care. The way he put it: ‘Okay, I’m you—you’re coming with me for a cavity, and I’ll fix your cavity, but if you don’t fix your habits, it won’t matter. So I’m going to teach you how to brush your teeth.’”

That advice turned into a strict daily routine. Cena said he uses scalp treatments and medication while also focusing on hydration and healthier habits.

“So every day, without fail, I have a scalp care routine—red light therapy, vitamins, minoxidil, finasteride, all that stuff. Staying hydrated, just making good choices to keep what’s up there healthy.”

Cena’s decision to shave his head for round two shows how committed he is to getting the best possible results. The final look will take time, but he is clearly staying patient with the process.

For now, Cena is letting fans see the work behind the transformation. Instead of hiding it, he is showing that hair restoration is a long-term commitment.
