Joe Gacy rejects the idea that the Wyatt Sicks failed because the group ran out of creative possibilities. According to the former WWE Tag Team Champion, the faction continued to develop ideas but struggled to persuade WWE to use them.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Gacy explained that the Wyatt Sicks initially felt strongly supported by the company. Their presentation carried momentum, and the members believed WWE had significant plans for them.
That support appeared to weaken over time.
Gacy does not know whether WWE lost confidence in the faction or decided its supernatural presentation was no longer working. However, he remembers growing frustration and confusion among the members as their direction became increasingly uncertain.
“I think there was a level of frustration with a lot of us in the group,” Gacy said.
The group did not wait for WWE’s creative team to solve the problem. Gacy said its members regularly created story ideas and presented them to the company’s writers.
Those conversations sometimes received positive reactions, but the pitches rarely progressed beyond that stage. Ideas the group believed could strengthen its characters and storylines repeatedly failed to make it to television.
Gacy’s account challenges the belief that WWE had exhausted the faction’s creative potential. From his perspective, the Wyatt Sicks continued bringing possible directions to the table but could not get the company to commit to them.
That disconnect also affected his individual presentation.
Gacy portrayed Huskus the Pig Boy as part of the faction’s tribute to Bray Wyatt and the Firefly Fun House. Although the character’s unsettling appearance contributed to the group’s atmosphere, Gacy was rarely allowed to speak.
He now wishes WWE had given him more opportunities to use his voice and show more personality within the group. Gacy had previously demonstrated his promo ability during his singles run in NXT, but that part of his presentation was largely removed after he joined the Wyatt Sicks.
The faction debuted on Raw in June 2024 with Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross, and Gacy. Its highly produced arrival immediately established the group as one of WWE’s most unusual acts.
Gacy and Lumis later captured the WWE Tag Team Championship, marking the faction’s most significant achievement. Despite that success, the group continued experiencing periods of inconsistent television exposure and uncertain creative direction.
Those problems eventually affected how Gacy viewed his future in WWE. After being hired in 2020, he understood that a release could happen someday, but the instability surrounding the Wyatt Sicks made that possibility increasingly difficult to ignore.
When the call finally arrived, Gacy did not experience only disappointment. Part of him also felt relieved because the months of uncertainty had become mentally exhausting.
He described the release as a weight being removed from him. The unusual position the faction occupied had apparently become difficult for both its members and WWE’s creative team to navigate.
Gacy stopped short of blaming one person or identifying a single decision that ended the group’s momentum. Instead, he pointed to miscommunication and WWE’s inability to determine how the Wyatt Six should be used.
WWE released the faction’s members during its April 24 roster cuts, bringing the group’s run to an abrupt conclusion less than two years after its debut.
For Gacy, however, the Wyatt Sicks began losing their direction long before the releases became official. The group continued pitching ideas and trying to protect its momentum, but those efforts rarely produced meaningful changes.
His comments suggest the Wyatt Sicks did not fail because its members stopped contributing creatively. From his perspective, the faction came to an end because WWE stopped acting on the ideas it continued to provide.
