The longtime partners are open to another induction if their famous table and door come with them
Summary
– JBL and Ron Simmons are open to an APA WWE Hall of Fame induction
– JBL joked that their famous table and door would need to be included
– Both men are already individually inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame
JBL and Ron Simmons are already WWE Hall of Famers, but the longtime partners would have no problem receiving another induction together as The APA.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Simmons was asked whether The APA deserved its own spot in the WWE Hall of Fame. He quickly supported the idea, simply responding, “Why not?”
JBL agreed but added one important condition. He joked that The APA’s famous backstage table and freestanding door would need to be inducted alongside them, suggesting the entire setup should become part of the Hall of Fame.
The table and door became a memorable part of The APA’s presentation during the Attitude Era. JBL and Simmons regularly played poker inside their makeshift backstage office, which had no actual walls, while other wrestlers still had to knock on the standalone door before entering.
The unusual setup became part of the team’s identity, with stars including The Rock and The Undertaker taking part in the running joke over the years. JBL joked that inducting the table and the door into the Hall of Fame would make it the greatest induction ever.
Another Hall of Fame induction would not be unprecedented. Simmons was inducted individually in 2012, while JBL joined the Hall of Fame as part of the 2020 class. WWE has previously honored wrestlers multiple times for both individual careers and notable teams or factions.
The APA also has the accomplishments to support the case. JBL and Simmons held the World Tag Team Championship three times together and became one of WWE’s most recognizable teams during their run.
If WWE eventually decides to induct The APA as a team, both men are clearly interested. JBL wants the company to remember that the table and door are part of the package.
