Dillard reveals an unexpected talent in a new preview for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3, Episode 2, titled “Haven.”
The clip highlights the chemistry between Jimmi Simpson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Dillard attempts to impress Negan with his unusual ability to influence walkers.
“Haven” will follow Maggie and Negan as they deal with enemies from their past. Matthew Negrete wrote the episode and also features Raúl Castillo, Aimee Garcia, Logan Kim, and Michael Emery.
Season 3 marks a significant change in Maggie and Negan’s relationship. After years of hostility, the longtime enemies are beginning to recognize that their survival may depend on trusting one another.
Morgan believes the evolving partnership reveals another side of Negan. Cohan has also explained that Maggie is learning that allowing grief to define her no longer serves her or the larger purpose she has discovered.
Showrunner Seth Hoffman is expanding the franchise’s approach to the undead by introducing recurring walkers with names and recognizable personalities. The creative team hopes this exploration will make the season feel familiar while bringing something new to The Walking Dead universe.
The season will also feature Emily Kinney’s return as Beth Greene during an alternate-reality episode. Beth will reunite with Maggie in what Cohan has teased as an emotional story.
