CM Punk is not getting a slow return to WWE’s road schedule.
After returning on Raw and defeating Sami Zayn to win the Undisputed WWE Championship, Punk is now booked for every WWE house show through the end of August.
Punk revealed on Instagram Stories that he will work all 13 WWE live event dates currently scheduled between now and the end of August. He is also advertised for every upcoming SmackDown now that he holds the brand’s top title.
That is a major workload for Punk, especially after being away since the Raw after WrestleMania 42. Punk lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, but he quickly returned to the title picture by beating Zayn on Raw.
Punk’s upcoming house show schedule includes stops in New Mexico, Pennsylvania, California, Illinois, Virginia, New Hampshire, Canada, Georgia, and South Carolina.
The live event run starts July 11 at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and continues through August 30 at the North Charleston Coliseum in South Carolina.
WWE has been increasing its summer live event schedule, giving more talent valuable reps in front of crowds. Having Punk on every show gives the company a major selling point while putting its new Undisputed WWE Champion in front of fans every week.
Punk’s next major televised stop could be SummerSlam in Minneapolis. The current plan is for Punk to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes.
That match would put Punk right back into one of WWE’s biggest spots of the year after his title win over Sami.
For now, Punk is back, holding gold, and working a full road schedule. WWE is clearly treating him like the top champion, and fans will soon see how this run holds up as more live events are added.
