– Flair opened up about perfectionism, guilt, and struggles with her body image

– She says practicing gratitude helped her develop a healthier perspective

Charlotte Flair has spent years presenting herself as one of WWE’s most confident stars, but she says that image did not always reflect how she felt about herself away from television.

Speaking with Stephanie McMahon on the What’s Your Story? podcast, Flair revealed that she spent three years in counseling through WWE while dealing with guilt, perfectionism, and the constant pressure she placed on herself.

Flair said WWE’s counseling resources became an important part of that process. She worked with a counselor she identified as Dr. Jada and later began focusing more heavily on gratitude and changing the way she spoke to herself.

One of the biggest adjustments involved making gratitude part of her daily routine. Flair said she began deliberately reminding herself of what she appreciated in her life instead of constantly focusing on what she believed was wrong.

She also started repeating positive reminders about being worthy, enough, and beautiful. That change went beyond appearance, as Flair said she also learned that keeping the peace should not require accepting situations that make her unhappy.

The conversation became even more personal when Flair discussed how she has viewed her own body throughout her career.

Flair said she believes she has dealt with body dysmorphia while acknowledging how easily women can pick apart their appearance, particularly when they spend so much time in front of cameras.

Her comments offered a sharp contrast to the confident Charlotte Flair WWE audiences have watched for years. While her character often carried herself as untouchable, Flair said she was privately dealing with doubts and intense self-expectations.

Social media added another layer to that pressure.

Flair and McMahon discussed how constant online comparison has expanded far beyond celebrities and television performers. Flair said she could not imagine going through high school while measuring her self-worth by Instagram likes, followers, and photographs.

She also admitted that social media remains something she has to manage herself. Flair said she sometimes catches herself scrolling aimlessly before realizing she needs to put the phone down.

Those habits are part of a larger effort to remain present and maintain the perspective she developed through counseling and practicing gratitude.

Flair’s comments show that the confidence associated with The Queen was not always as effortless as it appeared on television. Behind the championships and larger-than-life presentation, she was working through self-doubt while learning how to place less pressure on herself.

These days, Flair appears more willing to discuss those struggles openly rather than maintaining an image of constant perfection.
